Truffoire Review And The Perigold Collection

When a brand approaches you to try their 6,000 dollar skin product, you immediately say yes. But wait, let me back up a bit.

Our inner foodie inherently understands the value of truffles, but our inner beauty junkie needed a little more explanation, which Truffoire was more than happy to provide. Apparently, truffles are more than a luxury culinary ingredient. They are also believed to give the skin the ability to repair itself - and not only that, but they also help the skin defend against damage - something that, believe it or not, is just as important as helping to repair your skin, but which a lot of people tend to forget about in pursuit of a quick fix. After all, if your skin is working to repair itself but there is constant continuation of damage, you’re kind of just going in circles, without actual improvement.

But the benefits don’t stop there. In theory, the same benefits that truffles can provide to your organs (if you didn’t know, they can actually have a positive effect on a lot of your internal organs), they can do for your skin - namely, they deposit a variety of vitamins and fatty acids that are crucial for skin health. They have also been said to help reduce inflammation, relax deeper skin cells, and be incredibly moisturizing.

So back to the Perigold Collection and its use of perigord truffles. Perigord truffles are the most famous black truffle there is, and is exclusive to the Dordogne region in France, making them very hard to come by, and earning them the name ‘Diamonds of Périgord.’ They’re some of the scarcest, highest priced, and most sought after truffles in the world.

We should mention that black truffles aren’t the only ingredients Truffoire uses to make their products extremely effective. They also make potent use of Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Collagen, and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, which is a powerful synthetic peptide that’s comprised of 4 amino acids and has been tied to suppressing the production of interleukins, which are chemical messengers that can trigger wrinkles, sagging and uneven skin tone. Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 also helps to fight the increase of interleukins that is caused by UV damage, so actually, if you combine these products with good sunscreen, you should, in theory, see a massive difference in your skin.

PERIGOLD TRUFFLE MAGNETIC MASK:

The first product we tried was the Perigold Truffle Magnetic Mask, which came equipped with a magnet and several disposable little cloths to put it in. Basically, you apply the mask, let it sit, and then remove it with the magnet (with the cloth covering it). Essentially, the idea is that not only will the ingredients in the mask work their magic on your skin (that include not just black truffle, but gold as well), depositing a variety of nutrients, fatty acids, etc while plumping it up and evening it out, but use of the magnet adds the benefit of bio-magnetic technology that will leave your skin not only hydrated, but nurtured - and looking fresher than ever.

We have to say, this mask was pretty great. The thing we were the most impressed by (besides instant baby-softness), is that our skin stayed extra supple for days after.

PERIGOLD TRUFFLE DUET:

The next product we tried from the collection was the Perigold Truffle Duet, which infuses two separate anti-aging formulas into one potent serum. This product does something that not a lot of other beauty products do out there - and that is to keep some ingredients separate from each other until right before use. Why is this important? The general idea is that some ingredients activate when combined, but the potency isn’t the same if you blend them together and then keep them together. So by separating the formulas until it’s time to use them, you get all the potency, as they are activated at the time they are applied to your skin.

PERIGOLD TRUFFLE CREAM:

The last product in the line we tried was the Perigold Truffle Cream - notably the most affordable product, but not less effective. We enjoyed using this product after the mask for an extra dose of vitamins and nutrients. Plus the formula itself is rich and emollient so you really get that extra feeling of total luxury when applying it.
